This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th rankedMonarcas (3-3) to fifth ranked Yauco (3-3) 78-77 in the game for the fifth place. It was a great evening for American forward Asia Strong (188-2000, college: Syracuse) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Zaida Gonzalez (175-2003, college: Stony Brook) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Strong is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Yauco players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) scored 24 points and 5 assists. Newly promoted Yauco maintains fifth place with 3-3 record, which they share with defeated Monarcas.
